Ali Park wrote her first one-woman show in 2009, 'Ali Park, in the Company of Women' and ever since, the COW acronym has followed her! Her first show was the beginning of a decades-long, autobiographical journey "of being a wumman." Ali’s one woman COW shows were born from writing and performing sell-out shows as a double-act with her great friend, the late Jan McSkimming. All material was based on their experiences of childbirth and the aftermath. As
'Mother's Unleashed', they toured the hilarious 'PERINEUM INTACT-A' followed by 'PUMP UP THE PROZAC', and completed the trilogy with 'AT YOUR CERVIX'. Of these shows, Ali says "performing this material made me realise the degree of empathy women share; they love to talk, compare experiences, and offer up some remarkable confessions. When women have a problem, we rarely buy a book to find the answer, we phone a friend. We pass on words of wisdom - the
good, the bad and the ugly. Women love the company of other women!"
These days, Ali is mid-menopause with brain fog, memory loss and anxiety - the perfect skillset required with which to write and perform! Ali says "forget HRT, creams and counselling - there's no better therapy than laughter on a night out with your pals! Take a walk on the UDDER side, as we talk friendships, menopause, ageing and empty nests." She's at pains to point out, "men are welcome too - they might learn something!"

The Grisly Pear Midtown features a full kitchen serving a Mexican-inspired bar menu, including tacos, burgers, and fresh donuts. Additionally the bar has everything from classic beers to our signature cocktail, the Fiery Scotsman. Each show requires a two item minimum purchase in addition to your ticket, or you can skip the show and dine without a ticket in our restaurant area.
